So International - A Chop Suey Hui

Kava Club proudly presents 'So International' a Chop Suey Hui at Pātaka Art and Musem, 26th August 6pm.

Is going over the seas for our passions worth the hustle, multiple funding applications and holding down 3 jobs? Is there a disconnect in the distance or do our hearts grow fonder for the cow paddy paddocks of home?

Hosted by everyones favorite Herbert Bartley, our speakers include have I got a travel stories for you Rachael Rakena, international Māori man of mystery Teanau Tuiono, is there a Hawaiian Doctor in the house Emalani Case, making art in all corners of the Pacific Reweti Arapere, and the future is full and bright Mīria George, auricle scholar Savali Andrews and the passport is full-up Vera Mey. Dr Terri Te Tau will be hosting a label writing workshop, DJ 808 Broke will feed your ears and there will of course be Chop Suey!

This Chop Suey Hui will be held in conjunction with the opening of Tauutuutu a new series Bridget Reweti made during an Indigenous Visual and Digital Arts Residency at The Banff Art Centre, Canada.
